EAM-Mosca Corp., Hazle Township PA, a dynamic market leader in the area of end-of-line automated packaging machinery and consumable strapping solutions, is seeking a  Field Service Technician for the Hazle Township, PA region.
 EAM-Mosca is privately held and retains a unique, focused, entrepreneurial culture. Position Summary:
The Technical Writer will play a crucial role in creating comprehensive guides, instructions, and support materials to effectively support our field service department.  
The Technical Writer must have strong teamwork skills, working close with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to compose and revise diverse types of content across various media, such as Service Bulletins, training documentation and videos, installation instructions, and our LMS platform.
The Technical Writer will also be responsible for developing and maintaining our Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance our service training and knowledge experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Collaborate with SMEs to gather and prepare technical information.
    • Develop clear and concise installation guides and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Create technical illustrations, videos and diagrams to enhance understanding.
    • Develop Service/Technical Bulletins as required.
    • Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry standards.
  • LMS Development:
    • Design and develop engaging online training courses.
    • Create instructional content, including text, images, videos, and interactive elements.
    • Manage, troubleshoot, and update the LMS platform to ensure it meets the needs of employees.
    • Gamify the platform for users to earn achievements and foster a fun, rewarding experience amongst colleagues.
    • Convert content into SCORM files to capture data of interest.
    • Distribute and assign content to employees.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to expand and improve the quality and effectiveness of our training content and delivery.
    • Learn ways to expand training content availability to our customer and distributor base.
    • Expand capabilities by utilizing AI where applicable.
    • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of our equipment.
    • Maintain an understanding of industrial safe practices.
    • Performs additional tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skillset:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in technical writing, including generating new content, updating existing content, and editing source content.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner for a variety of audiences.
  • Bilingual translating and writing English to Spanish.
  • Experience working with technical documentation and editing tools (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Articulate 360).
  • Experience capturing photo and video content to build more engaging content.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., brainier, Talent).
  • Detail oriented with an understanding of the importance of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational.
  • Accountable to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experienced in capturing and editing photo and video content.
  • Effectively manage time to balance completing priorities while maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic with a dedication and interest in technology.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical industrial terminology and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industrial Training and Education
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or packaging machinery industry.
  • Experience in documenting the commissioning of new equipment.
  • Knowledge of technical illustrations and graphic design editing software.
  • Proficiency in additional languages a plus.

Work Environment:
  • Primary work will be conducted in an office setting that will involve frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Secondary work involves exposure to customer sites and our shop floor which requires certain PPE, such as safety shoes, glasses, and hearing protection.
  • The shop floor has heavy equipment, shop traffic, uneven floor conditions and sharp metal edges which can pose potential hazards.
