As we continue to expand our Americas region presence, we are seeking to hire a safety-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for our team.

Job Description: The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the company's success by handling daily quality testing, auditing, and communication throughout the strapping production process. The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for analyzing process control data, conducting quality audits, inspection of incoming raw materials, managing containment of defective product, monitoring at-risk process parameters, validating final goods prior to shipment, and troubleshooting root-cause of quality complaints.

Job Requirements:
  • Process Control
    • Measures process control parameters and flags at risk behavior
      • Analyzes control metrics and recommends changes for better process and product performance
      • Conducts capability analysis on product metrics
    • Ensures compliance with at-risk testing processing
      • Implements reaction plans for at risk or defective production
      • Sample re-tests and specification verification
      • Final visual inspection and verification of conformance
  • Quality Auditing
    • Routine sampling and spot checking of production runs  
    • Routine quality auditing measuring accuracy and performance of operator testing
    • Verification of process parameters, equipment programs, and packaging instructions
  • Raw Material Inspection
    • Routine inspection of incoming resins
      • FTIR Testing
      • MFI/IV Testing
      • Apparent Density Testing
      • Moisture Analysis
      • Dust Analysis
    • Routine inspection of incoming packaging material
    • Core specifications
    • Foil specifications
    • Labeling specifications
  • Oversight for containment of defective product
    • Oversees containment of defective product including finished goods and work in progress
    • Approves conformance to prime production after defective product identified
    • Updates control records for inventory adjustments and re-work
    • Maintains records of defective lots and conducts correlation analysis to understand trends
  • Monitoring at-risk process parameters
    • Reviews process parameters and determines reactions plans necessary for at risk conditions
    • Monitors CTQ parameters for material pre-processing equipment
  • Quality Complaints
    • Troubleshoots quality complaints and works with engineering team to identify corrective actions
    • Conducts verification audits on previous corrective actions
    • Trains team on corrective action and updates communication streams on status of changes.
Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Strong safety focus
    • Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical, Polymer, Chemical, or General Engineering
    • Experience in in a quality control environment
    • Strong computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Windows applications.
    • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfortable speaking in front of large groups. Able to read and write in English.
    • Willing to obtain Lean Six Sigma certifications.
    • Ability to keep neat and organized records and files with attention to detail.
    • Able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 50lbs.
    • Willing to work an on shift 2-2-3 schedule
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standard
    • Lean Six Sigma Green, Black, or MBB Certification
    • Experience with plastic manufacturing
    • Experience with testing in a laboratory setting.
    • Bilingual; Spanish and English
    • Emphasis on personal and professional growth, keeps knowledge and skills current.
    • Knowledge of capability analysis and setting specifications
